As a Lead Data Engineer, you’ll help a variety of organisations unlock the power of their data through cutting-edge technology.

What’s the role about?

As a Lead Data Engineer, you’ll combine the best of software engineering and data expertise to design, build, and optimise data systems, platforms, and applications. Working in fast-paced, agile teams, you’ll deliver modern data platforms for some of the UK’s biggest organisations. You can expect ot get involved in a variety of projects in the cloud (AWS, Azure or GCP), using data services such as Databricks, Data Factory, Synapse, Kafka, BigQuery, and loads more.

What will you be doing?

  • Designing and deploying robust, production-grade data pipelines and workflows using tools like Azure Databricks, AWS, or GCP
  • Leveraging your knowledge of parallel computing, complex querying, and cloud data services to solve computationally intensive challenges.
  • Ensuring code quality with CI/CD practices, automated testing, and monitoring to maintain production-safe standards.
  • Working with cutting-edge data technologies, including Databricks, Kafka, Synapse, and more.

What we’re looking for:

You’re an Engineer at heart who’s passionate about creating reliable, efficient data applications, systems and services. You’ll need:

  • Proven experience as a Data Engineer, with expertise in Databricks, Snowflake or Fabric
  • Strong coding skills in Python, with a solid grasp of coding best practices, design patterns, and data versioning
  • Knowledge of cloud data services (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, workflow scheduling, and large dataset processing
