We’re looking for a talented Backend Engineer to join the Sheffield-based engineering team of an international software company at the forefront of AI innovation. This role is all about integrating Large Language Models (LLMs) into a market-leading product, helping businesses transform customer feedback into actionable insights. What will you be doing?

  • Designing, building, and maintaining scalable backend services that power AI-driven features.
  • Collaborating with Machine Learning Engineers, Product Managers, and Designers to integrate LLMs and other AI models into the platform.
  • Working with modern backend technologies such as Go (primary language) and Python to deliver robust, high-quality systems.
  • Developing tools to analyze and process customer feedback, enabling smarter business decisions.
  • Optimizing backend architecture for performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Participating in agile ceremonies and contributing to a collaborative and innovative engineering culture.

What do you need?

  • Experience: At least 2 years of backend development experience, with a strong foundation in software engineering principles.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Go (preferred) or Python, along with knowledge of APIs, databases, and distributed systems.
  • Passion for AI/ML: While commercial experience with LLMs isn’t required, personal projects or a strong interest in AI/ML technologies are essential.
  • Problem-Solving: A creative and analytical mindset to tackle Greenfield challenges.
  • Curiosity: A growth mindset and willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
