Meet Ash!

We have a new team interview for you, and this week it's about our newest Senior Delivery Consultant Ash Petch.

Can you give me a professional overview?

I started off working in an IT-based role. Nothing as advanced as what our candidates do, I mainly told people to "turn it off and on". I then transitioned into education recruitment 7 years ago. After I discovered I was good at finding jobs for people, I thought it would be a good idea to combine the two.

Why did you join?

Because of our culture. We are no-nonsense Yorkshire. We are Hendo's relish on a meat & tata pie. We are forged in steel. We are the Chris Waddle of Tech Recruitment...We are Affecto (Cheesy? Yes. Inspiring? Absolutely)

What do you do?

I am a Senior Delivery Consultant. This role consists of thinking of quick, punchy responses to shut down your colleagues from the inhalation of banter they have just thrown your way. Identifying from the Dulux colour chart how they have their brew...Oh, and I occasionally speak to candidates about tech. 

Favourite Affecto Moment?

Every single second of every single day is my favourite Affecto moment (Complimentary Amazon delivery for Mr Petch incoming)

Favourite Recruitment Moment?

That job satisfaction you get when you find someone their ideal role and receive positive feedback and appreciation for the time and hard work invested in them

Favourite Holiday Destination?

Anywhere hot where they play 80's/90's music and I can sit and drink a Pina Colada at 9:49am without being judged

Favourite Food?

Anything from those American Smoke BBQ cooking programmes.

Favourite Beverage?

A nice bottle of red, or a smokey bourbon

What professional advice would you give your younger self?

Ride the wave and learn from your mistakes because everything happens for a reason
