Yorkshire Economy tops the chart for July
Yorkshire and the Humber experienced the fastest increase in business activity in the UK during the month of July.
According to the Lloyds Bank Regional PMI report, firms in the region hired staff at the quickest rate since March 2015, and experienced the fastest rate in new orders in the UK.
The report also revealed that business confidence in the region was significantly higher than the national average, despite concerns over Brexit.
Yorkshire also came second in the UK for job creation.
The Lloyds Bank Regional PMI is an economic check-up of the UK regions.
Daniel Koseoglu, MD at Affecto said: “It’s easy to see why the local economy is keeping up this momentum.
“With recent foreign investment from big firms like Ikea, Maclaren and Amazon, the region is well placed for prosperity.
“Sheffield in particular has been a key draw for foreign investment; there is a huge appetite for business growth and job creation going forward.”
