Lead Java Developer
Affecto are delighted to be working with a unique and exciting business, who are in the midst of upscaling their experienced development team in Sheffield.
The business, an award-winning company within the entertainment industry, are seeking a Lead Developer who will be responsible for mentoring and inspiring the team. You will be expected to take a hands-on approach, leading by example in the design, development and deployment of effective software solutions.
To manage a small team of software developers, delegating tasks and managing workloads whilst fostering a collaborative working environment
To champion the development of best practices and continuous improvement required for a world-class development team
To provide day to day mentoring to team members
To ensure code delivered is complete, consistent, meets all required quality standards, and delivers functional requirements
To support the development of best practices through researching, proposing and leading the implementation of industry leading development methodologies and practises within the team
Demonstrable experience of a similar senior position - mentoring and leading a successful development team
Ability to build strong working relationships and influence across all levels within the business through effective communication and excellent interpersonal skills
Previous experience of proposing and introducing structured processes, suggesting technical changes to continuously improve the development team and to track progress against agreed tasks
Significant experience developing Java applications
Excellent knowledge of Apache Camel and integration development
Experience working with cloud-based solutions – AWS, Azure, GCP
XML, XSLT, JSON
Extensive experience using IDEs, code management tools (git), build tools (maven) and ticket management tools (JIRA)
Delivery within a Services Oriented Architecture Framework
Thorough understanding and experience of working with the JBoss product suite, especially Fuse
